  • Currency Selection: This sets the default symbol (e.g., ₹ for India, $ for USA) for all future financial records. You can still change currency per-transaction later.

1.2 Permission Management

Pactora requires specific system-level hooks to function at peak efficiency.

  • Alarms & Reminders: Essential for Android 12+ users. Without this, your notifications may be delayed by the OS power-saving modes.
  • Notifications: Allows the App to post "due today" alerts.
  • Camera: Used only when you want to take a "Proof Photo" for a promise or record an item's condition.
  • Contacts: An optional permission. Pactora reads names into local memory, allowing you to pick a person without typing. Only the selected data is saved.

1.3 Profile Customization

Navigate to More > Profile to edit your bio, update your email, or change your profile photo.

  • The Avatar: Tap the camera icon to upload a photo. This photo is stored in your App's local directory and never leaves your phone.

The top of your Dashboard features four dynamic cards.

  1. Pending: Total active promises.
  2. Overdue: Promises that have passed their due date without being marked "Complete."
  3. Money Owed: The cumulative sum of all "I Owe" records.
  4. Owed to Me: The cumulative sum of all "They Owe Me" records.

2.2 Recent Activity

Below the grid is a scrollable list of recent actions. Tap any item to jump directly to its detail page. This is the fastest way to track changes in real-time.

3. PROMISE MANAGEMENT: ADVANCED WORKFLOWS

3.1 Anatomy of a Promise

A "Promise" is the fundamental unit of Pactora. When creating one, you define:

  • Title: The core task.
  • Person: Who the promise is with.
  • Role: Did you make the promise, or did they?
  • Date/Time: The exact moment of accountability.

3.2 The Recurrence Engine

For repeating tasks like "Pay Monthly Rent" or "Weekly Gym Session":

  1. Select the Recurrence dropdown.
  2. Choose a frequency.
  3. When you mark a "Weekly" promise as complete, Pactora automatically creates a new pending promise for the following week, preserving your streak.

3.3 Evidence Attachments

Tap the "Attachment" section to add photos or documents. This is invaluable for:

  • Saving a photo of a signed document.
  • Storing a screenshot of a digital confirmation.
  • Taking a photo of a finished task to "close the loop."

4. FINANCIAL MASTERY: THE MONEY MODULE

4.1 Tracking Debts vs. Credits

Pactora uses a color-coded system for money.

  • Red: Money you owe (Debt).
  • Green: Money owed to you (Credit).

4.2 Multi-Currency Operations

If you travel or deal with international clients, tap the currency symbol in the "Add Money" screen. You can select from 10+ major global currencies. Pactora keeps the ledger accurate for each specific currency.

5.1 Lending Assets

When you lend a book, tool, or electronics:

  1. Create a "Borrow" record.
  2. Select "I Lent."
  3. Take a Proof Photo of the item's current condition. This prevents disputes later if the item returns damaged.

Tapping a person's name in the "People" list opens their personal ledger. This shows every transaction and promise you've ever shared with them. It is the ultimate tool for personal accountability and history.

The Calendar gives you a quick view of upcoming deadlines. Each dot represents a promise, money record, or borrowed item tied to that date so you can spot busy weeks instantly.

Use the Timeline to review every create, update, completion, and settlement action in chronological order. It is your audit trail for changes across all contacts.

8. DATA GOVERNANCE: BACKUP AND SECURITY

8.1 Exporting the Pactora Ledger

Open Settings > Backup and choose Export to generate a .pactora backup file. Store it in a secure local folder or encrypted drive.

8.2 Restoring from Encrypted Backups

Choose Restore from the same menu to import a backup when switching devices or reinstalling. Pactora will confirm before replacing existing data.

8.3 Data Purging (Clear All Data)

The Clear All Data option permanently removes every local record. Use it only if you have a backup you trust.

12. TROUBLESHOOTING AND DEEP-DIVE FAQ

Q: I deleted the App. Can I get my data back?
A: Only if you have a previously exported Backup File. Because Pactora is offline-only, deleting the App erases the local database.

Q: Why don't my notifications make a sound?
A: Go to Settings > Notifications on your phone and ensure the "Pactora Reminders" channel is set to "Alerting" and has a sound assigned.
